Submission:
You are required to submit the source code of your game as well as the screenshot(s) of the finished game. You are also required to include the name of the game, game format, game engine, game genre, game name, and the name of your city. You may also use the header files of the engine as long as you include the author’s name.
Competitors:
Players can only submit their own games. For additional information on the rules for the competition, please see the downloadable rules below.
There will be one-time, global submissions of the winning game from each player. Winners will be announced on October 10, 2017.
Judging criteria:
The games will be judged in three phases:
Phase 1: Quality of code and game concept
Phase 2: Execution
Phase 3: Gameplay
Phase 1: Quality of code and game concept:
This phase will be composed of a) judging the quality of the code, b) judging the quality of the game concept, and c) judging the originality of the game.
a) Judging the quality of the code:
Games will be judged according to the technical merits of the code. Judges will consider:
Compatibility of the game with the selected portable platform.
Compatibility of the game with the selected portable platform. The source code of the game must be disclosed as a single zipped file.
As long as the game has a license agreement, the actual license agreement must be disclosed.
The general format of the source code file must be adhered to.
The file size must be within the range of 30 MB to 500 MB.
b) Judging the quality of the game concept:
This phase is to judge the quality of the game concept. The judge will consider:
The originality of the game concept.
The originality of the game concept. Originality of the game genre.
The originality of the game genre. Originality of the game name.
The originality of the game name. Originality of the city name.
